To provide building coverage as needed, maintain safety in the residence halls, provide students support and assistance, and oversee the housing operations during their shift. Ensures that residents are aware of the rules and responsibilities of the University and Residence Life & Housing. Assist students in developing behavioral standards appropriate to group living in an academic institution. When necessary, confront individuals whose behavior is unacceptable.

Report to work on time and as scheduled, to ensure that continuous coverage is provided in the assigned residence hall.

Attend staff meetings/trainings/in-services and also, serve on designated committees.

Ensure that all procedures are followed with regards to calling out sick, vacation requests and absentee reporting.

Must be able to work on a rotating shift schedule without conflict.

Prepare incident, hospital, maintenance, and staff reports as necessary to ensure that reports are thorough, accurate, and submitted to the Hall Director or appropriate supervisor at the end of each work shift.

Provide incident information to Night/Evening Manager by telephone when an incident occurs in the assigned residence hall.

Complete accurate written reports of incidents on same night for submission to the Hall Director or appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift.

Check resident's rooms for fire/health and safety concerns as directed by the Office of Residence Life & Housing, assigned Hall Director or other appropriate supervisor and submit room inspection reports.

Maintain and monitor order in the residence halls and ensure residents adhere to the University Code of Conduct, and the policies of the Office of Residence Life & Housing.

Ensure all rules and regulations are enforced consistently.

Assist residents or visitors with obtaining proper information and/or referrals needed.

Ensure that all resident needs are addresses within eight (8) hours of receipt.

Employee should provide excellent customer service to all residents, staff or visitors that enter the residence hall.

Attend and complete all customer service training sessions required by the University and/or the Office of Residence Life & Housing.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate required. Possess experience in the performance of various office services support duties. Demonstrated knowledge of effective customer service. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and make workflow decisions independently.

Preferred Qualifications

College graduate preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities.

Special Requirements

A criminal background check is required.
