Boulder County's Parks & Open Space Department has openings for three (3) Community Outreach Seasonal Employees.
These positions have an anticipated start date in mid-April with an anticipated end date of October 31st.
Examples of Duties:
Leading outdoor volunteer work projects; staffing special events, local festivals and trail head displays; performing park patrol and educating visitors about stewardship of public lands.
Two (2) years of college course work in Volunteer Management, Environmental Education, Interpretation, Resource Management or closely related field.
One (1) season of experience directly related to volunteer management, environmental education, or resource management.
Knowledge of Front Range flora, fauna and ecosystems preferred.
Must have a valid Colorado (or state of residency) Driver's License and a good driving record. Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a current (within seven days of the interview) motor vehicle record. If the issuance date of the Colorado Driver's License is within six months, candidate will also be required to provide a current motor vehicle record from the previous state of residency.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Position requires wearing a uniform.
Schedule involves working Wednesday through Sunday and some Friday and Saturday evenings during the summer months.
Must be able to work long (up to 8 hours) hours outdoors, hiking open space trails. Occasionally performs physical work to organize special events and volunteer work projects, including lifting up to 30 pounds, loading vehicles and carrying equipment.
