Brooks Institute celebrates 65 years of educating students in the visual and media arts. With campuses in Santa Barbara and Ventura, Calif., the school offers bachelor’s degrees in fields including professional photography, visual journalism, film and graphic design, and master’s degrees in both photography and screenwriting.

General Summary:
The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for increasing awareness and interest in campus programs through relationship-building and creative marketing strategies. The primary goal of this position is to drive revenue growth with targeted community and education alliances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and analyze key industry and target company trends to develop effective marketing and growth strategies. Communicate marketing needs and use approved materials.

Develop strategic partnerships at all levels with local high schools, community colleges, businesses, workforce agencies and/or military bases (as appropriate) for the purpose of increasing market penetration. Determine goals of each partner and develop and present unique strategies to support their objectives.

Plan & visit targeted education partners, and identify other market areas where appropriate to make structured presentations and present factual information regarding the college’s programs to students and administrators, utilizing approved recruitment and promotional materials.

Obtain inquiry cards from interested student participants.

Partner with admissions personnel to support monthly objectives.

Acquire and maintain knowledge and understanding of the objectives, requirements and content of all programs of study offered by the college in order to present and answer questions on factual information to all stakeholders.

Plan and execute a variety of student focused events.

Achieve the weekly, monthly and annual metrics as established by the Campus Director of Admissions.

Other duties as assigned.

Identify and target companies offering tuition assistance for their employees.

Grow referral network and contacts by creating and attending networking events and business functions

Accurately forecast monthly, weekly and daily activity for assigned territory. Consistently achieves the expected goals and objectives

Other Duties as Assigned or Requested:
Ground Campuses: Collaborate with campus personnel to organize and support the successful outcomes from campus-wide events.

Ability to present the programs in a factual manner

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays

Required Experience

Education and Experience: Minimum

Associate's degree (Marketing, PR, Public Speaking or related field)

3+ years related experience within Marketing, PR, Public Speaking, Event Planning, Project Management or other related fields

Experience with Microsoft Office Applications

Education and Experience: Preferred

Understanding of Social Media Marketing desired
