Be the face of MEMIC Indemnity Company as we expand our presence throughout the Northeastern U.S! MEMIC, a regional leader in worker’s compensation insurance, and among AM Best’s top rated companies, is seeking a worker’s compensation claim handler for our Albany, NY office.
The Compensation Specialist will handle a caseload of primarily lost time workers’ compensation claims.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3-5 years experience handling lost time claims from the New York jurisdiction. A four year college degree and the ability to handle claims from other states are preferred.
This position’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Occasional travel to other MEMIC offices, as well as regular meetings with policyholders and agents, is expected. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are a must.
- Evaluating, negotiating and resolving claims through the delivery of appropriate and timely benefits.
- Creating and maintaining relationships with all parties associated with daily claim handling.
- Maintaining quality claim files in accordance with best practices, company policy and procedures and state worker’s compensation statutes.
