Job Description

Global Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm’s compliance mission. The Compliance function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by developing and maintaining program infrastructure that identifies measures and monitors adherence with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally. Compliance teams work closely with business, legal, risk, and audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risk and, monitor and test the adequacy of the firm’s compliance control environment.

Compliance teams work closely with business, legal, risk, and audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risk and, monitor and test the adequacy of the firm’s compliance control environment.

Global Compliance currently has an opportunity for a Program Manager / Business Analyst who will lead work streams in the Trade Surveillance and Electronic Communication Surveillance areas.

Trade Surveillance includes functions such as:
  • Market Manipulation
  • Insider Trading and Conflicts
  • Unusual Trading
  • Suitability and Broker Conduct
Electronic Communication Surveillance includes functions such as

  • Email, Instant Message, Chat and Social Media Supervision
  • Voice and Tex based surveillance
  • Storage and Archiving
  • Keyword Surveillance
  • Ad Hoc search capability
The candidate will be responsible for project management and reporting of a program of compliance related, cross business projects within one of these areas. Projects may involve participation from and have an impact on multiple functions and lines of business and will support process and strategic initiatives.

This candidate will work closely across a variety of management teams to assess; scope and program manage their project needs. The candidate will have responsibility for coordinating project governance, gathering business requirements, prioritization, overseeing execution and UAT, and managing all approvals to ensure that the expectations of the business are fully met.

Qualifications

The candidate should demonstrate ability to develop strong and influential relationships across all levels of an organization and manage/lead teams and multiple work streams in a changing and intense regulatory environment.

Requirements:
  • The candidate should demonstrate ability to develop strong and influential relationships across senior levels of an organization and manage/lead project teams and multiple work streams, within a larger portfolio of programs, in a changing environment.
  • Ensure project initiatives meet desired business results
  • Lead or attend meetings to review projects against the plan
  • Conduct research to determine if solutions to business needs currently exist within or outside of Compliance, firm, and/or within the market
  • Contribute expertise to designing processes and implementing innovative business solutions
  • Responsible for driving business and corporate initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring execution of business requirements, training, procedures, workflow redesigns and implementation schedules
  • Develop, review, and execute test plans and scripts
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years Financial Services experience
  • 7+ years Project Management experience with a history of successfully leading project teams
  • 5+ years of Compliance and/or Broker/Dealer experience
  • Bachelor degree required. Advanced degree desired
  • Solid analytical skills and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing specifications
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently; agility in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships with senior management across business, technology and operations as well as across regions and lines of business
  • Track record of building relationships across global organizations and operating through influence
  • Proven results and experience with achieving goals, developing and implementing new strategies
