This person will work with functional departments to understand requirements and use the company's systems to support various business processes.
In this role you will develop expertise in implementing functional requirements from marketing, pricing, engineering, and manufacturing among others. This position reports to the engineering group, but interacts closely with the IT department, as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced, ever changing, exciting environment. Implement rules (program) in the BuyDesign product configuration software to support all aspects of product quoting, ordering, planning, and manufacturing
Develop rules to support the introduction of new products as well as maintenance and support for existing products
Be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle including requirements gathering, development, testing, documentation, training, implementation and support of the configuration system that will be used both by employees and customers to configure, price, quote, and order products
Develop expertise with multiple modules in Oracle as well as the BuyDesign configurator and web applications delivering configuration capabilities to customers
Lead root cause analysis of production configuration issues then develop and execute plans to resolve the issues
Generate and maintain documentation for changes made to systems.
Adhere to established development standards and follow all change control protocols
Work with users to fully document requirements and test scripts.
Participate in testing of your peer's rule development as well as testing of application enhancements
Provide support to end users
2+ years of Engineering and/or Manufacturing experience preferred
Expert level skill in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem solving capability
Product configuration experience preferred
Understanding of bills of materials, item master, manufacturing routings, work orders, etc.
Knowledge of programming or programmatic logic structures preferred
Knowledge of relational databases a plus
Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly
Excellent communication skills, (verbal & written), organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
