KIND OF WORK PERFORMED: Under the supervision of the
Reservations Supervisor, answers calls properly and responds accordingly,
communicating in a clear and professional manner to best serve the customers’
needs courteously and efficiently, ensuring accuracy of data entry and database
integrity. Work schedule will include weekend hours and vary during departmental
hours of operation and emergency circumstances such as actual and anticipated
natural and man-made disasters, according to written procedures. In addition to
taking phone reservations this position is required to perform related duties in
accordance with the respective policies and guidelines provided by JTA.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (not intended to be all inclusive)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Support JTA/JTM’s Core Values and conducts
business in an ethical manner.
- Creates and confirms accurate electronic
bookings of customer trip requests using guidelines for the
current scheduling system software.
- Maintains clear and concise written records
detailing each trip request received.
- Verifies pertinent information (home address,
telephone number, etc.) with each caller and provides
appropriate personnel with written description of changes when
- Provides information about JTA Connexion to
callers as necessary.
- Communicates any problems or scheduling issues
to supervisor as they arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High school graduation or possession of an equivalent diploma. One
year of office/clerical training or experience in a transportation or service
- Excellent customer service skills and
professional telephone manners.
- Excellent (oral and written) communication,
organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to
promote teamwork and cooperation.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and to sit
and type for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals
- Knowledge of Duval County and common locations
used by Connexion clients is preferred.
- Ability to work in a call center environment
with other personnel and maintain confidentiality of information
