Faithful+Gould is currently seeking candidates for the position of Estimator to work in our downtown Minneapolis office. In this role, you will prepare estimates for specific disciplines and provide business support to senior staff as directed. You will prepare cost estimates, complete pricing and benchmarking research and maintain project documents and files in an organized manner.
Typical duties and responsibilities of the job incude:
Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. Performs accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
Inputs estimate takeoff information for specific discipline into CATO and develops unit cost pricing.
Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate. Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
Assists senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
Maintains project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized and reasonable manner. Maintains project files on file server in accordance with company standards.
Maintains and updates data library of costs.
Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost drivers.
Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction or a related field.
4+ years estimating experiences in the construction industry.
Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
Should have intermediate knowledge of CATO, working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure, and working knowledge of a commercially available construction cost estimating system.
Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
This position is suitable for local candidates only, you will commute to our downtown office daily and there is no relocation or travelling allowance available. You must possess current US work authorization to work for any US employer without requiring sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
