We are seeking a dynamic, Operational Transformation Manager or Senior Consultant to lead client projects. We are seeking a top leader in the market. The ideal candidate will have extensive Operations Management/Strategy/Transformation experience as well as the ability to create new solutions and grow revenue.

This role will provide leadership by overseeing and validating project activities and ensuring that projects are designed to achieve all contractual deliverables while remaining commercially attractive to the client and viable for Hitachi Consulting/Celerant.

SUMMARY:

Hitachi Consulting is actively seeking Operations Management Consultants with 5+ years experience from the Mining, Oil & Gas and/or Construction industries. Experience in Asset Management, production, maintenance, engineering, and reliability is preferred. Candidates should have solid experience in project management processes and tools, the application of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma), and both technical and behavioral delivery of results-based change management programs. Qualified candidates should have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Manager and Consultant positions are available. Managers are responsible for the supervision of all aspects of our client implementation programs, assisting in the upfront analysis of Client’s Operations and the subsequent design and development of results based change programs. Consultants typically work as part of an implementation team responsible for delivering specific scopes of work, including organizational studies and evaluations, analyzing data, conducting work simplification and measurement studies, redesigning management systems and work processes/procedures, coaching and training client personnel in usage of new methods, leading and managing client teams, facilitating client focus groups, and ensuring on time completion of projects.

These positions require significant overnight travel, typically Monday through Friday. The ability to remain flexible and to successfully adapt to a variety of working environments and schedules are a must.

Education/Experience

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years in an operations environment or relevant experience, with 1+ year as an operations consultant or business analyst, preferably within the Mining and Oil and Gas industries. Experience leading a results based change initiative is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor degree or higher and some experience in one or more of the following: asset management (production/maintenance/reliability/engineering), capital projects management, supply chain, logistics and distribution, or lean manufacturing. Candidates must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint. Experience doing data analysis using Excel and Minitab is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to successfully engage and motivate individuals within all levels of an organization is a must.

Other Requirements: Our clients in the Mining, Oil and Gas and Construction fields have 24-hour operations that are usually in remote locations. The ability to remain flexible and to successfully adapt to a variety of working environments and work schedules, is a must.
