DEPENDING ON THE VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED, THIS POSITION MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE STATED DATE.
Responsible for the planning, organization, and initiation of all class programs and recreational activities. Must have excellent behavior management skills and provide positive communication between parents and staff. This position is responsible for the overall supervision of and safety of participants, combined with implementation and adherence to lesson plans and City policies. This position is responsible for the ID checklist. Processing class registrations and record maintenance is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Individuals assigned to this classification must report to work per their assigned schedule. Parks and Recreation staff must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.
Attending or completion of high school diploma or GED required. CPR and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire or promotion. Children and Family Services (CFS) 40 hour training required within one (1) year of hire or promotion for positions at Four Freedoms Park and Before and After School Programs only (must be registered within 90 days of hire or promotion). Experience working with children required (experience working with developmental disabilities required for Adult Day Training-Onsite Special Populations positions). A valid Florida Class "E" Driver's License is required within 90 days of hire or promotion.
Additional qualifications required by the State of Florida for Special Populations Adult Day Training-Offsite positions:
High school diploma or GED and four years experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities or related field; or an associate's degree and two years experience with persons with developmental disabilities or related field; or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
