TITLE OF ROLE: Contract Instructional Designer

WORK GROUP: Learning Offerings (LO)

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Instructional Design Team Lead

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The primary responsibility of this role is for the design and development of instructor-led and/or self-paced education products and programs.

SKILLS: Demonstrated work ethic and communication skills; understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and partnering skills. Demonstrated instructional systems design skill specific to instructor-led materials. Excellent project management andcommunication skills and the ability to interact effectively in one-on-one situations both onsite and remotely are required. Must be experienced with Learning Content Management (LCMS) software and possess the ability to adhere to deadlines and follow instructions. Must provide own equipment. Providing own software is preferred.

EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in related field required (equivalent experience will be considered). A master’s degree in the field of education, with an emphasis on instructional design, adult education, or curriculum design/development is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three to five years’ experience in training program, curriculum development, and project management is required. Must have worked through and managed instructional design processes (ADDIE or similar) for instructor-led and/or self-paced training. Extensive experience with program development software and authoring tools required. References and work samples are required.

LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Design and develop assigned training courses based on the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) model of Instructional Design.
2.Contribute to the creation and management of a project plan for developing or enhancing assigned training programs. .
4.Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts in the effective design and delivery of all training programs.
5.Be available for onsite work and/or meetings as required.

ROLE RELATIONSHIPS:
1.Internal - Frequent interaction with Learning Offerings work group in ASQ.
2.External - Frequent interaction with subject matter experts and faculty.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Planning and scheduling. Contributes to the planning and scheduling of development projects as requested.
2.Product delivery. Delivers product on time, defect free, and according to plan.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works independently to meet training program plan and schedule. Must submit work to Director of Education and Training, ASQ Learning Institute/Learning Offerings or designee.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
1.Work conditions - Responsibilities are performed in a normal office environment or off site.
