Contracted position for 1 year at St. Croix Industries in New Richmond WI, for the Health & Human Services Dept. Not benefit eligible.

Identify & promote job opportunities for consumers of St. Croix Industries. Promote supported employment for disabled individuals to the general business community. Perform job placement for eligible individuals into competitive employment based on the recommendations from assessment and support plan.

Examples of Duties:
Performs job development by identifying job opportunities for eligible individuals, conducting job analysis to match eligible individual’s abilities, interests and limitations to suitable jobs and informing employers of hiring incentives available when employing disabled individuals;
Promotes supported employment for disabled individuals to the general business community;
Gathers information necessary to prepare and write supported employment assessments by analyzing referral material and follows written job development plans which integrate results and/or recommendations from the assessment to find supported employment;
Prepares DVR monthly progress reports and assists with monthly billing for the Division of Vocational
Monitors and evaluates the delivery of services to and protecting the rights of the client workers;
Performs job placement for eligible individuals into competitive or supported employment based on
recommendations from employment assessment and employment support plan;
Assists and supervises disabled individuals in performing entry level jobs commonly found in service
industries (e.g. fast food, restaurant, housekeeping, etc.)
Provides job placement follow-up and long term follow-along support to assist disabled workers
maintain successful community employment;
Acts as a liaison between disable worker and his/her employer and co-workers nurturing and
maintaining a positive working relationship;
Prepares periodic written progress reports and attends progress training with client worker, living
situation, referral and funding source;

Provides training in job-related skills (e.g. mobility, personal care/grooming, general community
Communicates regularly with Placement Specialist regarding status of all placement activities and

Assists Placement Specialist in scheduling employment transportation routes to provide transportation
for disabled individuals to and from community work sties using personal vehicle or County provided
Develops innovative work programs (e.g. transitional employment sites, work stations in industry);
Provides on-site supervision to disabled individuals when needed.
Participates in job related training and staff meetings;
Works with community to facilitate positive interactions with persons with disabilities;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications:
Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to learn new tasks and develop training methods for teaching these tasks to disabled individuals. Basic knowledge of Federal and State wage and hour laws and procedures as they pertain to sub-minimum wage determination. Ability to work independently; ability to work effectively and in a professional manner with the disabled; agency staff, employers, etc. Ability to understand the Social Security work activity process and have the ability to explain this process to client workers and their guardians. Physically and mentally able to perform entry level jobs commonly found in service industries (e.g. fast food, restaurant, housekeeping, etc.) Ability to judge individual potential in relation to community employment requirements. Mature, responsible and dependable. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Qualification Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in: Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, or related field. Experience working with developmentally disabled adults and in industry or in a vocational rehabilitation setting desirable.
Any equivalent combination and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Special Requirements & Certifications:
Must Maintain valid driver’s license with the minimum state requirement for insurance as well as have a vehicle available for transportation.
