Responsible for providing design support, application support and training on Commercial and Residential controls systems. Conceives, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for solving complex controls engineering problems. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed controls engineering solutions. Implements plans to transfer and leverage controls engineering knowledge to Business Unit staff, Distributors, Contractors, and other customers. Responsible for ensuring controls products are designed and developed to the highest standard. Defines and established design constraints. Recognized as a subject matter expert as demonstrated by significant accomplishments and contribution.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Application Support: Provide technical and application support through the development and implementation of application tools, programs, and information to create strategic advantage, solve market needs, and leverage core capability to increase the knowledge and specifications of Mitsubishi solutions.
Product Development: Suggests product development ideas, for evaluation by internal product development team, to address needs in the business unit. Collaborate with management to define product feasibility, scope, impact, and technical needs. Coordinates and integrates efforts of other departments (including manufacturing, marketing, sales, operations, and training) to ensure product success
Training: Lead the creation and implementation of applications-based training for field sales, distributors, owners, design professionals, and contractors. Training includes knowledge transfer of existing products/applications and introduction of new products/applications.
Technical Documentation and Collateral: Create and review technical documentation, literature, and collateral. Technical documentation includes, but is not limited to, application notes, I&O manuals, schematic drawings, submittals, engineering data, and white papers.
Customer Care: Provide Tier 2 level customer support for distributors, owners, design professionals, and cntractors for application and technical support.
The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Various support functions relating to specific sales activities and opportunities.
Performs other job functions as assigned.
5-10 years technical HVAC controls, integration, and product development experience.
B.S. degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering, computer science or technical degree in HVAC Control Systems or Computer Networking, or equivalent.
Technical experience with DDC controls, BMS/BAS, LonWorks, BACnet, and networking. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and networking; Strong communication, presentation, training, and technical writing skills; Analytical approach to problem solving; Team oriented, self motivated, and likes to work hands.
