PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Develop, execute, and analyze marketing communications messages through integrated media (print, electronic, etc.) to deliver relevant value propositions to our internal and external customers. Ensure that marketing plans and budgets from assigned product marketing areas (business side) are aligned with shared-service resource groups (support side) from strategy through execution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
' Marketing Communications: Develop and deliver high-quality integrated marketing communications programs from idea conception through tactical execution in support of strategic, corporate or product marketing objectives.
' Marketing Communications: Ensure that all components of integrated marketing communications programs are delivered on time.
' Marketing Communications: Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of new marketing communications techniques and approaches.
' Brands: Provide insights, perspectives and recommendations to internal clients that continually improve the image of the organization and its brands.
' Brands: Ensure that the brand identity is presented consistently in all communications by interfacing with strategic/product marketing, internal shared-service resource groups and external agency partners.
' Agencies: Manage project-level relationships with external agency partners and monitor release of files to internal production teams for printing/electronic publishing.
' Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements aimed at improving marketing program effectiveness.
' Reporting: Provide strategic/product marketing initiative leads with status reports on past, present and future programs.
' Reporting: Develop new and contribute to existing reporting mechanisms for measuring the effectiveness of integrated marketing communications programs.
' Planning: Align all aspects of integrated marketing communications tools (print, electronic, strategic, tactical, etc.) to deliver a consistent and coordinated message to the customer/market.
' Planning: Maintain and monitor an integrated marketing communications plan within the appropriate internal system(s), and ensure that all plan components are current, properly aligned with budgets, and adequately supported by shared-service resource groups.

' Planning: Responsible for transfer of programs from strategic planning system to marcom database and compliance with internal controls requirements.
' Customer Communities: Work with marketing services customer database team to maintain customer communities, including data quality and subscription marketing activities.
Education: Bachelor's of Arts/Science degree in advertising, marketing, journalism, or equivalent experience required; Masters of Business Administration degree desirable.
Experience: Five years experience in marketing communications, advertising or corporate/agency marketing environment.
Essential and Critical Skills:
' Thorough knowledge of all aspects of marketing communications (advertising, public relations, sales promotions, direct marketing); ability to understand the business/marketing challenge and effectively align marketing communications tools to meet that challenge.
' Motivated, creative thinker and team player with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues at a variety of organizational levels. Fundamental project management skills and a proven ability to keep multiple projects on track at the same time.
' Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior marketing management and translate strategic plans into integrated marketing communications programs; detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
' Understanding of basic financial concepts (i.e., budgeting), and proven ability to manage planned expenses vs. actual expenses and deliver a balanced marketing budget.
ADDITIONAL LOCAL NEEDS:
' Occasional (~5%) travel to company or vendor locations.
' Ability to sit for extended times (approximately 8 hours) at a desk using a computer.
' Hearing and vision within normal limits.
