University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks a Coordinator-Graduation Certification to coordinate all aspects of Graduation Certification. Manage workflow from the point of student application for degree through certification for graduation and diploma processing/ mailing. The coordinator will audit the official evaluation to assure all graduation requirements are met including benchmarks such as cumulative GPA, GPA within a major, appropriate course substitutions are documented, and any exceptions are duly noted. Assists and coordinates special clearances and letters of completion for students who have been certified. Oversees the Embassy Request letters to include assisting with the development of web based services to facilitate the information needed for the letter from an end user standpoint. Responsible for handling troubleshooting, problem resolution, and suggesting recommended changes to enhance efficiency and customer service. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Graduation Certification including updating program plan stacks, awarding degrees, processing graduation applications and fees, quality verification of degree audit and graduation clearance information from Advising to complete final certification.
Coordinate communications including automated People Soft Communication Generation functionality for internal and external customers, handling graduation certification questions via e-mail and phone from all stakeholders
Processing and coordinating mailings, ordering diplomas, developing solutions to track and maintain data inside People Soft and with queries and reports.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education and experience); At least one (1) year of experience working with degree audits, graduation clearances and/or student services.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree; Experience with People Soft or other student data base system/computerized audit system; Experience working with transfer credit evaluations, graduation clearances or graduation services.
