This position is responsible for maintaining the Transportation Department computer system databases, TIMACS, TSPP, delay analysis, etc. It is also responsible for system maintenance and coordination of data exchange with other departments to ensure system functionality and efficiency.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-Maintenance of the TIMACS system consistent with current employee timetable, special programs and track programs of the LIRR, Amtrak, and New Jersey Transit.
-Daily input of data. Coordinate inter-departmental data exchange.
-Assist in query report generation. Prepare progress reports necessary to monitor system activities.
-Review train schedule changes and provide systematic updates for Tower Personnel.
-Other related duties as assigned.


-A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) approved by a State's Department of Education or recognized accredited organization.
-Must have recent operations-related experience.
-Must be familiar with operating rules and physical characteristics of the LIRR.
-Must be proficient in the use of the timetable and familiar with train routings, crew and equipment cycling, and manpower utilizations.
-Must have knowledge of computer applications and operations with the ability to coordinate activities concerning on-line systems throughout the towers and PSCC operations.
-Must have the ability to facilitate a multi-dimensional process effectively and possess strong multi-tasking skills.
-Must be a proficient keyboard operator, demonstrating a high level of accuracy.
-Must be able to demonstrate strong, effective communication skills.

Preferred/Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
-Associate's Degree.
-Basic Skills training.
-Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Wage Progression:
$37.246 per hour is the 100% rate:
80% - $61,977
85% - $65,851
90% - $69,725
95% - $73,598
100% - $77,472

Other Information

In addition to meeting the minimum requirements of the position, the selection process may include, but is not limited to, a pre-screening assessment (i.e. physical, written and/ or practical evaluation) and interview.
