The incumbent in this position is a manager who participates in and facilitates the management of the operational, personnel and financial activities of the assigned specialty areas. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Current DC license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
CPAN/CAPA certification preferred.
Three years PACU experience, inclusive of one year of leadership experience that includes teaching and evaluating personnel.
Two years clinical experience in an acute care setting, which includes critical care, PACU and/or ambulatory care experience.
Thorough knowledge of perioperative nursing experience for assigned area.
Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care delivery systems for the area.
Ability to work under stress and maintain emotional control during emergency situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal/written communication skills.
