Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Entertainment, the Corporate Director of Entertainment is responsible for interfacing with the Park Teams and the Corporate Partners to drive the development of creative entertainment product, and the expansion of the SEA Entertainment organization goals and objectives. This role will also act as the Executive Producer to oversee production alongside Park Production Teams and Consultants.

Working with the Park Entertainment Teams, the Director will be engaged with new offerings and productions to ensure they are created and produced on time and on budget with strong focus on creativity and show quality. This will include identifying, contracting and using Consultants and Venders to support this development. Additionally the Director will work closely with all of the Park Teams to identify opportunities for the continued growth and development of the Entertainment Team Members. This will enable those Teams to become more connected and integrated, and will help ensure that the existing shows and entertainment offerings continue to be delivered with quality and impact.

The Director will also work closely with the Park Teams to develop and support the SEA brand and intellectual properties (IP), as well as integrating other third party IP’s seamlessly into our entertainment offerings

Working with the Corporate Partners, the Director of Entertainment will develop strong working relationships that will ensure an integrated approach to our offerings. This will enable us to create guest experiences that are collaborative and maximize revenues across all of our lines of business. The Director will also participate on Task Teams to identify new projects, processes and integration opportunities, as well as having involvement on Strategy and Capital Teams to assist in identifying and developing long term strategic growth opportunities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Work with Consultants and Park Teams to create and produce new Park and Special Event Entertainment. 40%
•Work with key Partners in Marketing, Alliances, Operations, Zoological, Merchandise, and Culinary to develop inclusive guest products 25%
•Travel to Parks to see existing Entertainment product and assist with maintaining excellent show quality 20%
•Work with Park Teams on staff growth and development 10%
•Assist with the inclusion of Third Party IP’s into the SeaWorld / Busch experience 5%
•Facilitate and oversee contracts, production budgets and timelines

General Requirements

•Minimum of 10 years of entertainment theme park or entertainment industry experience
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading creative entertainment and product development teams
•Experience and competence in entertainment product creation, production, operation and guest satisfaction
•Proven ability to understand and drive clarity around project goals, and keep projects focused and on track
•Experience and understanding of show elements (costuming, writing, choreography)
•Experience and understanding of show technology (lighting, audio, video, special effects)
•Experience and comprehension of budget development and management
•Ability to constructively deliver show notes
•Experience in recognizing and addressing safety issues
•Proven and effective analytical and problem solving skills
•Proven and effective communication skills
•BA degree preferred
