Corporate Risk Planning & Analysis is responsible for the planning, reporting and analysis of the Corporate Risk business globally and the consolidation of Firmwide Risk Results for the Chief Risk Officer. The team works with senior management and the Risk LOBs to provide the information and metrics necessary to support the decision-making and strategic planning of the business. Responsibilities include:
Understanding business performance and producing in-depth Profit & Loss analyses for Corporate Risk and Firmwide Risk
Developing forecasts and profit improvement plans;
Managing executive financial communications;
Liaising with Business Managers, Risk Partners and Risk Stripe heads,
Acting as a cross-LOB partner with Firmwide Risk P&A leads and Corporate to produce effective reporting;
Streamlining ad hoc financial processes and executing the group's strategic initiatives.
The P&A deliverables are utilized by the various Risk groups and span from specific functional detail to global Risk-wide performance updates. Corporate Risk P&A's position provides a firmwide perspective of our Risk organization and excellent exposure to Firmwide Risk, intra-company relationships, and management decision making.
Ideal candidate will help manage and support the P&A team in all aspects of Management Reporting related to the Risk organization. The team member will use Excel and PowerPoint in conjunction with JPMorgan's financial tools to create meaningful reports and analysis.
Role and Responsibilities
Review & analysis of combined Corporate Risk and Firmwide Risk Financials
Coordination in MIS activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis:
Monthly management reporting close
Revenue & Expense variance analysis
Forecasting consolidation and review
Annual budget process
Oversight and reporting of allocations
Focus on accuracy of Forecasting & provide feedback on trends observed across Risk
Assist in the development & implementation of consistent financial framework & standards
Maintain & Coordinate calendar of deliverables
Maintain & Coordinate monthly financial reports, including Executive Management Reports
Review organizational hierarchy changes, including control of history, actuals, plan & forecast, transfers and restatements
Provide integral support to executive reporting and senior management presentations
Interact with senior Risk Executives
3-5 years experience, preferably in the financials services industry, P&A or CFO experience a plus
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (i.e. use of pivot tables, macros, arrays, etc)
Experience with management reporting, management information systems
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate leadership and organizational capabilities
Ability to multi-task and work autonomously within team environment
Ability to research issues/problems and provide a 'solution-based' approach
Adaptable to change and ambiguity in the work environment
Finance skills - core finance and accounting background, plus Managed Expense and Allocations knowledge
Communications skills - Strong oral and written skills
Teamwork - Values team environment and coordinates with group to "get the job done"
