Corporate Communcations Dir.
This position reports directly to the Head of Marketing. This senior and influential role will provide executive-level public relations counsel on a wide variety of issues including strategic messaging, key corporate initiatives, coordinating proactive media campaigns worldwide and competitive media relations. The successful candidate will work daily with business, trade and other media and analysts who cover Intel and its competitors. Proven experience and strong relationships with top tier media are essential for the role. Experience with executing product launch events; managing all aspects of strategy, vendor management, location selection, and budgeting. Creativity, innovative thinking, outstanding problem solving skills, strong story creation abilities and a strategic focus are essential.
-- Developing and nurturing personal relationships with key members of the media and online outlets;
-- Developing and leading the corporate teams proactive efforts to generate and strategically place Intel Media-focused news stories in major media outlets;
-- Leading the company's competitive PR activities;
-- Selection and management of executive speaking opportunities;
-- Being well-versed on Intels products, technologies and major initiatives while also being very knowledgeable about the media and social media environment and using this information to effectively counsel senior executives and others in the company appropriately;
-- Becoming a content creator by actively publishing/broadcasting on a variety of technologies, capabilities and strengths online using social media tools;
-- Serving as a key spokesperson for the company on a wide spectrum of issues;
-- Working closely with, educating and learning from Intel Corporate Communications and the PR agency.
Qualified applicants would have more than 10 years of direct journalism, media relations and/or marketing experience combined with established technical skills, preferably in corporate media relations. A bachelors degree is required, preferably in journalism, English, public relations communications studies or related fields. The applicant should possess existing high-tech media relationships and excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills. A proven ability to influence internal constituents is also a must as is a background successfully working with senior executives.
The successful applicant will also be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-focused, and often interrupt-driven environment. Working as a self-starter, a curiosity to both learn and teach, strong organization skills and attention to detail are essential attributes for applicants, as is creativity and a tendency to 'think outside the box.' As important, we are looking for someone who enjoys and will role model the Intel culture, has a passion for our products, and a deep desire to surprise and delight our customers.
This role is based in Santa Clara and will require some travel.
