These positions exist within the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem. There are currently two vacancies. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates.

These positions provide intensive and intermediate case management for inmates based on the risk to recidivate and special needs.

Three years of experience in a social service, rehabilitative, or correctional program with primary responsibility for guiding and/or counseling individuals or groups in the solution of occupational, educational, personal, or social problems may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
- have two years of professional counseling experience working with clientele in a social service or rehabilitative program, AND
- a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field with major coursework in behavioral science.
A Masters degree in a behavioral science may substitute for one year of the required experience.
NOTE: Professional counseling experience must include providing supportive counseling to clients on a one-to-one basis with full responsibility for managing each case plan.

Pay and benefits on all announcements may change without notice. For budgetary reasons, the State of Oregon requires employees to take unpaid furlough days during the 2011-2013 biennium. The incumbent to this position may be required to take a prorated number of unpaid furlough days during the biennium, depending on the number of furlough days established and the date of hire.
This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute .
