Performs substance abuse screening and assessment services for the York County Psychological and Substance Abuse Services Program which serves the jurisdictions of Williamsburg, York, and Gloucester Counties. Assesses and evaluates the client population by administering a variety of screening and assessment instruments. Conducts psycho-social interviews with youth and parents. Administers urine drug screens as need indicates. Co-facilitates substance abuse education/prevention groups with head facilitator in Williamsburg, York, and Gloucester Counties. Prepares and delivers a variety of substance abuse educational information pertinent to each individual group. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 20 hours per week
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in human services or related field and 1-2 years of experience working with socially or emotionally maladjusted youth. A mental health licensure is desirable.
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Requires acceptable criminal and child protective services background checks.
Must be certified in CPR and Basic First Aid.
This position has been funded by a grant and is contingent upon the renewal of this grant during the upcoming budget year.
DMV records and background checks conducted prior to employment.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including copiers, calculators, pagers, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.
