Court Customer Service - The Bilingual Customer Service Clerk 2 provides information services to the public in the Lee County Clerk of Courts and is responsible for cashiering and back-up as needed in other areas. Additional services include provisioning mail and telephone requests associated with various cases.

Typical Job Duties:

• Review and Modify information on Court Systems
• Receives and processes payments from customers, issue receipts and ensure that non-cash payment documents are properly completed
• Receives monies for court cost, fines and other payments, counts money, checks for counterfeit currency, and gives correct change
• Balance till daily and utilizes cash handling skills that reflect a high degree of accuracy
• Maintain responsibility for ensuring customer service is a high priority and that customers are treated courteously
• Maintain accuracy standards (over, short, correct dept, etc) according to the clerk's over/short policy and other applicable office procedures
• Verifies and balances deposit contents before submission to the banking facility
• Reports any errors discovered in the processing activity to appropriate staff member
• Processes payment transactions from FIS – Link to Gov daily report and CCS
• Verify for accuracy, and save documents to images
• Answer Phones and assist customers for TR, MO, CO, and IN case types
• Prepare financial transactions and documents
• Demonstrate ability to perform case related and non-case related research and resolve problems
• Other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Specific Duties:
• Assess Fines and Fees
• Setup Payment Agreement
• Print Payment Invoice
• Print MO CO Commitment Form
• Clear D6 Suspension and reinstate drivers licenses in e-Term system
• Print Drivers License Record
• Handle Collection Disputes
• Handle Customer Identity Dispute
• Assist with Image review of documents
• Process payments, pleas and dispositions for TR/MO/CO/IN case types
• Accept School Completion Certificates for TR case types
• Set Hearings for TR/MO/CO/IN case types
• Prepare a Judicial Information Form to be sent to judge/magistrate
• Print and prepare a commitment form for MO/CO/IN case types
• Enter a citation from queue or copy
• Set up Payment Plans for MO/CO/IN/TR case types
• Process MO/CO/IN Fail to Comply Lists
• Work TR Agency Dismissal Letter queue
• Verify daily D6 jobs for accuracy
• Process inquires in the Info_Traffic_Ordinances mailbox
• Perform all duties of Customer Service Clerk 1
• Provide translation services for Spanish speaking customers

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• One year of cashiering or bank teller experience required
• Microsoft Outlook and Word experience preferred
• Basic Microsoft Excel experience required
• One year of clerical and customer experience required
• Accurate sequential filing skills required
• Accurate keyboarding, data entry and 10-key skills required
• Proficiency in business English and business math required
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail required
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Effective interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and professional demeanor are required
• Use tact in sensitive situations, maintain confidentiality of restricted files, and present and maintain a courteous attitude at all times
• Work is performed with close supervision
• Demonstrate proficiency with operations and general care of the PC, printers and other required office equipment
• Ability to work extended hours

Supplemental Information:

This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 5:15 pm.
This position requires the applicant to be fluent in Spanish and English.

Physical Requirements -

• Office: Majority of the time is spent sitting at the computer, remainder of the time is spent assisting in other functions
• Work from Home (if applicable): About 100% of the time is spent sitting at the computer
• This position requires clear verbal interaction with employees, the public and agencies
• This position may require bending and reaching
• This position may require going to other departments and/or offices on different floors and/or buildings throughout the day
• Occasional travel between Ft. Myers and Cape Coral offices
• This position may require occasional travel to other sites to review products, or attend meetings, seminars or classes
• Ability to use standard office equipment
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
