The Credit Support Services Analyst II- Zone A is responsible for the Credit Center Underwriting Review process and approval or denial of Credit Center policy credit and funding exceptions. The primary function of this job is to evaluate, audit and review Credit Center post funding contracts for underwriting policy and process compliance. This team member also addresses any credit issues, potential fraud or red flags that may arise during the review process. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring quality underwriting decision are made to company credit and pricing policies established by senior management of Dealer Services. This team member has direct contact with Consumer Services, Credit Review, Credit Centers and all relevant within Dealer services.

Detailed Description


· Evaluate, audit and review Credit Center post fundings for underwriting policy and procedure compliance

· Ensure credit-underwriting reviews are completed accurately according to GM Financial and departmental operating policies and procedures

· Analyze and review the underwriting process. Identify, investigate and determine and inconsistencies, discrepancies, negative underwriting practice trends and policy misinterpretation in the underwriting process

· Review credit exception requests from the Credit Centers and determine their approval or denial

· Assist Credit Center personnel with credit policy and pricing interpretations

· Maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements relating to motor vehicle retail installment loan documentation, GM Financial funding and operating credit policies

· Complete special projects as needed

Job Requirements



· Must demonstrate a complete understanding and ability to exercise prudent interpretation on company credit policies and procedures

· Must have extensive knowledge of credit laws and regulations

· Must have in depth knowledge of GM Financial’s credit and funding policies

· Must have a thorough understanding of Provenir, LOS, Excel, Word and other internal software systems

· Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgment and logic when solving issues, providing recommendations and making decisions

· Ability to plan, execute and improve work processes to ensure achievement of business objectives

· Ability to understand GM Financial’s business, apply knowledge and critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions


· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Must have the ability to make sound credit decisions supporting company objectives

· Must be able to interpret and implement changes to the company’s strategic credit plan


· Must have at least 4+ years of experience in indirect auto financing and credit underwriting

· GM Financial underwriting preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
