The Capital Region Child and Adolescent Mobile Team (CRCAMT) responds to a child or adolescent’s emotional/behavioral health crises at families’ homes, in schools and at emergency points of entry as requested by family members.
Staff provides consultation and information, crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and facilitation of alternate levels of care directly to the families during crisis episodes. Staff also provides after-crisis phone support to help the family gather knowledge and resources to prevent/deal with future crisis episodes. The guiding principle of this initiative is that children and families must be assisted in the least intrusive, least traumatizing manner possible.
We are searching for a per diem Crisis Intervention Specialist to function as part of a multi-disciplinary mobile team, to provide crisis intervention services to children/adolescents and their families experiencing psychiatric and behavioral crises in Albany and Schenectady Counties.
Assessment and crisis intervention provided by telephone and/or on-site visits will be implemented using a strength-based perspective, with a family focus and will include coordination of services with existing providers and linkage to additional community resources as necessary.
This position is paid hourly at approximately 8 hours per week. Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm - 9:30pm
Provide rapid response to children, adolescents and families in crisis by phone and on-site within the community.
Interview caller to determine case formulation.
Conduct risk assessments and mental status examinations.
Analyze information to identify action plan.
Consult with team and supervisor.
Document information in accordance with applicable standards.
Coordinate with community resources for collateral input and follow-up care.
Monitor implementation of action plan.
Provide crisis intervention and crisis stabilization to children, adolescents and their families.
Planning for safety and continuing care.
Engage in advocacy for children, adolescents and families served as appropriate.
Masters Degree in Social Work or other Mental Health Related Masters
This position encompasses the scope of practice and supervision necessary to count towards an LCSW or LMHC in New York State.
