Critical care clinical pharmacists provide both clinical and distributive services to patients. Pharmacist duties are: round with medical staff, provide drug dosing services using the hospital Per Pharmacy Protocol policy and write chart notes, review all patient profiles, assess all new medication orders for appropriateness, verify computerized prescriber order entries, participate on the code blue team, provide drug information to physicians and nurses, teach residents, clerkship students, and other pharmacists, provide nursing education and supervise satellite technicians. Critical care pharmacists may also provide clinical services in the Emergency Department which entails review of medication orders, participation in medical emergencies, distribution of select medications and provision of drug information to physicians and nurses.

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities
Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy School; preferably with a Pharm. D. degree.
Current California State Board of Pharmacy issued Pharmacist License. BLS card.
Prefer at least two years experience as a pharmacist in an acute care setting; must possess excellent customer service skills.
A PGY2 in critical care or emergency medicine, or equivalent experience are required for the position.
