$14.00 an hour
This is a part-time, 20 hours a week position.
The Customer Service Associate is responsible for greeting students, parents and any other visitors who approach the Financial Service Counter. This position is responsible for finding out what the visitor needs and providing necessary assistance, as well determining if visitor must be referred to a Student Account Specialist.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Education and Experience
- Provide excellent customer service to all who visit the Front Desk;
- Keep daily log of student/ parents who visit the Front Desk on an Excel spreadsheet;
- Review and analyze student accounts;
- Use University Bursar website to provide information for visitors;
- Attend Division and Area meetings, as well as participate in staff development activities;
- Support Admission programs and assist with other Enrollment Services areas as requested.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of one year of work experience is required, preferably in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituencies. A strong customer service orientation and a commitment to timely resolution of customer issues is essential.
Candidate must possess strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize. Must also demonstrate strong problem solving skills with the ability to solve problems independently as well as seek assistance when necessary. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with others is essential.
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn the role of each Department in the Division of Enrollment Services, as well the ability to gain a strong knowledge of what each member in the University’s Bursar Office is responsible for to effectively answer visitor questions and to properly refer visitors. Must also demonstrate the ability gain a strong knowledge of the University Bursar webpage and become familiar with where to locate information.
Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Must also possess a strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new software.
