The Customer Service Representative manages customer service activities primarily over the phone, fax and electronically. This position will work directly with customers, the client, outside sales force, as well as the inside sales team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Respond to customer inquiries taken via phone, e-mail and fax.
Responsible for order management process utilizing SAP, shared services sites and other tools.
Keep current on product offerings and availability.
Develop and maintain excellent communication.
Establish and develop relationships with clients and co-workers.
Resolve customer issues and complaints regarding product offering.
Investigate overdue, damaged or incorrect shipments by common carriers.
Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent paperwork and records (including but not limited to deductions, credits, customer master files, EDI set-up).
Recommend improvements in service or processes through Lean Management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED, HSED) is required; Bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of two years customer service experience required.
TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE
This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes: Beginning Word and EXCEL. Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by the Client and Alta Resources.
