GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: Performs intermediate skilled clerical work involving customer service activities and the preparation and/or maintenance of related records; does related work as required, Work is performed under regular supervision. TYPICAL FUNCTIONS: Receives false alarm customer inquiries, alarm billing questions by telephone, email or in person. Advises customers on Ordinance 5074 regarding false alarms and user fees for city residents. Advises customers on options regarding payment of alarm bills, payment plans or appeal options. Records and collects alarm fees received by mail, on line or in person Posts payments to proper Fire, Police or Alarm company account. Performs a variety of filing and record keeping duties associated with alarm billing and registrations Researches and corrects errors in customer accounts. Processes payment batch settlements for daily deposits Settle alarm payments with daily deposit Performs research on responsible party for false alarm event and mailing address’. Prepares correspondence and emails in response to patron inquiries and requests. Updates contact information and mailing address data as provided by customers. Process letters and invoices for mailing, fax invoices upon request Must operate calculator, personal computer and other standard office equipment essential to maintaining records. Responsible for researching activities and entering data in Crywolf Police, Crywolf Fire and AS400, Performs related tasks as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: General knowledge of terminology, methods, procedures and equipment; general knowledge of police and fire services, standard office procedures, practices, and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures, skill in the use of a variety of office machines and computer equipment; ability to use various Windows-based computer software, including Seagate CAD, ability to pass 10 key, math, typing and clerical tests at time of application, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens, customers and other City staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable public contact experience. Background check may be required
