The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 21, seeks a qualified individual to provide legal support services to the office attorneys. Duties may include but are not limited to: type correspondence and maintain records; screen calls and visitors; answer inquiries; secure and provide information; respond to routine inquiries regarding court dates, office practices and procedures; screen and route mail according to contents of communication including email; compose and type letters; assist victims with the completion of forms and other documents; use office computer system to gather, verify or enter case information; and maintain case files.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Knowledge of: court systems and procedures; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses.
Skills in: high level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies, and the general public; calmly handle stressful situations; work independently; handle a large amount of public interaction; and type legal forms and documents.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school or high school equivalency certificate and two years of legal secretarial experience.
Management prefers Forsyth County residents; and candidates with Spanish speaking skills.
