The Direct Digital Control/Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Technician installs, services and repairs environmental-control systems in campus facilities, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
This worker connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source. This technician will diagnose and repair damper controls, control valves, and control system issues. The technician observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation, replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
Maintains and continually evaluates condition of systems, recommends and incorporates replacement or repair of components or units. Replaces pneumatic control systems. Analyzes needs, designs configuration, determines programming sequence, identifies replacement components, purchases and installs Direct Digital control system(s) to replace pneumatic control system(s).
Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. Specific experience with Siemens and/or JCI systems. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
MIN EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent. Formal training in Direct Digital Controls and Pneumatic Controls. Two years journeyman level experience.
Valid drivers license. Valid journeyman HVAC Mechanic License and EPA Universal Certification
