DETD Process Engineer
Job Description: Process Engineers own an equipment tool set. They are expected to safely meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements and milestones in this new technology process. Process Engineers define, implement and oversee tool configuration/operation, procedures and controls for the module. Plan and conduct experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle. Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel. Develops solutions to problems utilizing their education, statistical knowledge, structured problem-solving techniques and sound engineering judgement. Establishes process control systems for the module and sustain equipment at a level that supports the required manufacturing volume. Transfers process to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory start-up as well as install and qualification of the new production lines design and plan the layout for such processes as hardening, washing, laminating, etching, engraving, polishing, painting, plating, and other material processing operations. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment. Responds to customer/client requests or events as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a Masters Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics or Applied Chemistry.
- Highly motivated, self-starter. Innovative and structured problem solver with a high tolerance of ambiguity. Experience with Lean improvements and team leadership experience is a strong plus.
