The Advertising Director is charged with establishing best in class advertising for retail and commercial banking dramatically shifting our approach to customer acquisition, product activation, and product usage. The Advertising Director will develop an entirely new dimension of brand experience, market engagement and innovation through advertising. The advertising group will become a critical cornerstone for organic and acquisition growth. Management or Supervision: Responsible for building, leading and managing a team of people.
15% - Establishing close and strategic advisory relationships with Line-of-Business Marketing Strategy teams who support the product and channel management teams in the retail, private bank, and commercial businesses at Union Bank.
15% - Becoming the voice of marketing for advertising.
20% - Developing a differentiated sustainable market position for Union Bank through advertising, based on leveraging Union Bank's core strengths, a deep understanding of goals of the role financial services play in their businesses and the personal lives of their owners and employees.
10% - Developing the advertising strategy and media buy to support and achieve Union Bank's goals and objectives.
20% - Leading the creation of strategies that leverage a rich integrated mix of media and tactics; including print, radio, tv, and outdoor advertising.
20% - Developing effective and innovative consumer and commercial campaigns that enhance Union Bank's visibility and brand reputation.
Bachelor's degree required; M.B.A. preferred.
Ten-plus years of relevant advertising and media experience, focusing on consumer and commercial financial services.
Proven record of success in developing, championing, and stewarding fully integrated advertising programs.
Balanced leadership style that allows for both highly strategic leadership skills with the ability to be hands-on and lead by example.
Prior experience leading or managing bank advertising; agency experience. Powerful communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to convey an inspiring message to large groups as well as one-on-one settings.
Experienced people, project and organizational manager.
A strong balance of strategic and business skills, with a high level of intellectual agility and capacity for original thought.
