Provide direct support to the Marine Corps Logistics Command, Distribution Management Center, Storage Operations Department/Quality Management Branch. Assist the Branch Head and staff in the execution of multiple functions to include: (1) Create, assemble and present material when required, communicating orally and in writing; (2) Perform program assistant duties in support of the distribution; (3) utilize the full spectrum of distribution systems to accomplish assigned distribution duties; (4) Design, develop, and maintain databases, using standard database programs such as MS Access and Oracle, to provide distribution reports, analyses, and other relevant information to assist with distribution decisions; and (5) Analyze data to identify trends and anomalies. Assist in branch efforts related to the transition from manual processes to electronic Work Instructions (WI’s). Assist in data collection, analysis of data/ processes/procedures, editing of related documentation and development of new/revised reports/work products/process and procedural documentation. Supports other administrative and IT related duties as required. Coordinates with internal and external customers and provides responses to requests. Generates reports and briefings as required. Attends/participates in meetings, IPTs, working groups, etc., as required. Travel as required. Other duties as required.


Requires two (2) years of college with courses in business administration, industrial management, or appropriate discipline, and four (4) years progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Advanced oral and written communication skills are required. Recent/current experience with USMC distribution, storage and transportation processes and associated automated information systems preferred but not required. Proficiency/experience in data entry/input/analysis, reports generation, development of checklist, process and procedural documents, and charts, and with MS office applications to include Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Familiarity with Oracle desired. Candidate should possess or have ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance if required. Familiarity with ISO concepts and the USMC MCLC DMC structure, organization and operations desired.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.

Work Environment:

This job primarily is performed in warehousing storage facility offices, warehouse/storage and processing areas, maintenance shops, and open storage lot environments. For office work: An inside environment/Cubicle. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers and clients. Needs to have clear, concise and accurate communication skills (English language). Independent personal transportation to office and to offsite locations is required. Must be able to gain access to Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA., as needed.

Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required


Routinely requires working an 8 hour day, M-F. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely critical. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions:

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion. Use of personal protective equipment i.e. safety shoes, hearing, eye protection equipment is required in specified industrial/warehouse settings.
