Stonington Institute began serving recovering
alcoholics in 1957 as Starlight Farms, a working farm where adults in
recovery were introduced to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Today, we are the longest continually operating, free-standing,
voluntary treatment facility in New England. Our main campus is
located in North Stonington, CT, in its original private and peaceful
rural setting. We have additional clinical sites in Groton, CT.
Transportation and off-campus housing assistance make our programs
and services accessible to a statewide clientele. Those programs
include: medical detoxification, rehabilitation/residential
treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment
(both day and evening) and ambulatory detoxification, as well as
residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military
service members. The Institute accepts private insurance,
state-funded plans and self pay arrangements.
The Driver will transport newly admitted clients to
program and/or housing and transport existing clients as needed
to/from program and appointments. S/He may also serve as a
courier between Stonington Institute business locations.
This position is per diem, as needed to fill in for
call-outs, vacations or other vacancies. Hours Monday - Friday,
7:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Valid driver's license with passenger (A, P, or
F) endorsement or CDL is required .
Clean driving record, including no DWI/DUI in the last seven (7)
years. Flexible, able to work on short notice up
to 40 hrs/wk as needed. Ability to communicate well
verbally and interact with clients in a positive manner.
