Oversee, supervise, and assist DSWI staff in the daily provision of services to ensure that individuals receive the necessary supports and opportunities throughout the shift. Ensure and oversee the proper implementation of Habilitative, behavioral, and recreational programs. Maintain individuals rights; oversee the performance of direct care staff with the implementation of objectives, data collection, and completion of various documents. Supervise and participate in the provision of direct supports in accordance with peoples ISPs and agency-established policies and procedures. Serve as a good role model, working alongside DSWI staff giving clear direction and feedback, while interfacing with clinical and supervisory staff. Flexibility with work hours, to attend cluster and other related meetings.
Qualifications:Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct care service to persons with mental retardation, emotional or physical handicaps, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
I. An Associate' degree or higher with a major in a human services field including sociology, special education, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or related field, may be substituted for the required experience.*
Special Requirements: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements completed.
Based on assignment, must be certified in the administration of medication under M.G.L. c. 19B, ss. 1, 13, and 14, and M.G.L. c. 2 and 17 to dispense medication.

This position is designated as an EMERGENCY Position in the Department of Developmental Service's Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
"This is a 24 hour /7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Service's requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need."
