This position manages the decision support services to include and not limited to development and maintenance of the dedicated decision support SQL Server for enterprise reporting (i.e. UT Medicine physician practice plan and School of Medicine) and responsible for organization's managment reporting system. This position will design and produce the system solutions and high level technical designs to meet identified business requirements and key metrics from UT Medicine practice management system (i.e. Epic Clarity). In addition to developing and managing these applications, this position is also responsible for evaluating and analyzing the reliability of the acquired data to ensure data integrity and validity of the reports. This position will also involve in the implementation of the institutional budget planning application (Oracle Hyerion Budget Planning) to outline the data modeling for the application and participate in development of technical roadmaps assoicated with database design that would support the finanical business intelligence.
Hands-on data modeling and develop new reporting products, elements, and data sets to support and add to our current offering for UT Medicine and the School of Medicine.
Manage technical components of the School of Medicine and UT Medicine practice plan Decision Support reporting systems including SQL Server database administration, security administration, database architecture and MS Analysis Services OLAP cubes.
Supervise the technical Decision Support staff, guide and direct work on projects and requests.
Ensure data integrity of Decision Support databases for the UT Medicine practice plan and the School of Medicine. Analyze data from professional billing system and use to fulfill reporting needs.
Collaborate with administrative management and clinical departments on information needs. Collaborate with UT Medicine IT and UTHSCSA IT IMS on implementing technology components to support our reporting. And Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent with three years professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including and not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, ETL processes, dimensional modeling and reporting tools. Several years (at least 4-5) of experience in dimensional modeling, cube design and development using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SSIS and MS Analytics.
Must have in-depth experience on SQL Server RDBMS platform (in addition, experience with Oracle is a plus). Strong background in development and analysis with SQL 2008/ 2005. Experience with OLAP and Reporting Services/MS Excel combination. Strong data dimensional modeling, data extraction and load processes from operational source systems into the data warehouse. Previous experience working in healthcare, health systems or any other type of healthcare organization would be a major plus. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team to develop the required solution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be required for customer and team interaction. Strong organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with IT development teams in an agile environment. Familiarity with BI tools such as Hyperion Reporting, Essbase, and OBI is a plus. Data modeling skills to include conceptual, logical, and physical data models, OLAP and data warehouse modeling, Star Schema data mart (conformed dimensions and fact tables).
