This position is located within the Division of the State Information Technology. Incumbent will provide lead technical support for the management and maintenance of ADABAS databases and related Software AG products running in IBM z/OS environment. Install, modify and maintain database and Software AG related software. Coordinate installation of maintenance and migration to new software releases with outside agencies. Maintain system software at current maintenance levels to minimize end user problems. Assist the DSIT ADABAS customer agencies with database related issues. Help them successfully implement their databases and work with them to resolve database related issues. Formalize database standards, working with all groups to insure that all phases of the databases and client/server interfaces adhere to documented standards. Design database integrities to insure that system security is maintained. Ensure the protection of user databases and systems from unauthorized or accidental use or destruction.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and three years experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support of complex database management systems; an associate's degree in a related field and five years of experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support of complex database management systems; or a high school diploma and seven years experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support of complex database management systems.
