The Data Conversion Specialist will build and maintain data process management throughout the life cycle of the 401k plan in a bundled services environment.
Establish payroll data flow and feedback files as it relates to the specific plan's provisions and existing payroll data sets by working with payroll providers, plan sponsors and internal parties and setting expectations and effectively responding to questions.
Quarterback the implementation of payroll processing both incoming and outgoing by addressing business needs in a time sensitive environment.
Analyze specific data requirements for the 401(k) recordkeeping system as it relates to available data from specific payroll providers and/or internal plan sponsor data systems.
Manage high profile cases which may require negotiation with external parties and other internal departments to minimize financial exposure.
Document procedures and protocols for the customized needs of the plan sponsor by mapping required data elements and identifying additional data requirements as necessary.
Contribute to and identify opportunities for process improvements, detect trends and patterns of escalating issues within a changing environment where on-going product development is in process.
Integrate, analyze and manipulate data to ensure integrity and data gaps as it relates to conversion and/or payroll data requirements and successful on-going plan administration in the bundled plan environment.
Maintain knowledge of bundled on-going administrative requirements of a plan and how that impacts the data requirements for implementation and the administrative procedures that need to be established or modified.
At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the 401k defined contribution bundled environment.
At least 5 years of work experience with payroll data interfaces and 401(k) payroll conversions.
Excellent mathematical, programming and analytical skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing prioritizes and continuously deliver on expectations
Take ownership for escalated issues generated by assigned caseload and/or team and inform appropriate parties.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with ADP, Ceridian, Paychex, and other payroll providers is highly advantageous.
Working knowledge of SPARK formatted files and the differences in SPARK formatted files between payroll vendors.
