The Registration Data Manager collaborates with the SCS Registrar to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of academic and student information delivered to SCS students, faculty and staff. This position manages all aspects of information technology within the Registration Department ' including research, development & testing, documentation, record verification, analysis, and reporting ' using PeopleSoft, BI tools and various operational data storage systems.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Write ad hoc queries and Crystal Reports to support the SCS student records data;
  • Provide regularized and ad-hoc summary and detailed enrollment advising and retention reports to the SCS Registrar and Assistant Dean of Student Services;
  • Maintain existing Reports and queries in Crystal Reports and PeopleSoft;
  • Run and distribute standard scheduled reports for the SCS RO and external SCS departments;
  • Plan, create and distribute a wide variety of statistical reports regarding student's records and related areas;
  • Work with SCS leadership to identify strategies to improve decision-making through quantitative and statistical analysis;
  • Conduct appropriate quantitative and statistical analyses to support decision-makers in educational and operational contexts;
  • Create of Dashboards;
  • Collaborate with the SCS Registration Team to write, review and refine information included in new business process documentation;
  • Develop and maintain documentation (i.e. user guides, data dictionaries & training materials) on application systems, and regularly update associated process and procedures for using these systems;
  • Proactively and effectively communicate all system modifications to SCS community;
  • Maintain SCS Registration Office web pages and services for both internet and intranet;
  • Maintain the Image Now and E-forms applications;
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of new computer systems and the enhancement of existing applications, collecting and analyzing information for reports; compiling and structuring data extracted from SIS;
  • Assist in identifying unit wide integration and related student record solutions;
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • Four years of experience in higher education (preferably within a Registrar's office);
  • Demonstrable experience maintaining data and developing ad hoc queries in student information systems;
  • Knowledge of FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act) regulations;
  • Microsoft Office proficiency in Excel and Access database;
  • Proficient with the PeopleSoft (or other enterprise student information system) student records database including the query building module, BI tools (like Cognos), and reporting tools (like Crystal Reports);
  • Adept with HTML, SQL, Adobe Suite, XML and Image Now;
  • Experience using SAS, SPSS, or other statistical packages in desirable for analyzing large datasets;
  • Strong technical problem solving skills;
  • Strong statistical and quantitative analytical skills;
  • Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner;
  • Familiarity with higher education organization, and academic policies;
  • Ability to deal effectively with students, faculty, staff, senior administrators, government agencies and other outside organizations;
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in higher education (preferably within a Registrar's office);
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Strong report writing abilities;
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
