The Database/Business Intelligence Developer will work with Team members to create clean, well-structured, and scalable database schemas, stored procedures and other database constructs that support many of our enterprise applications. The candidate will also be responsible for going out into the business and working with users to develop effective analysis tools that help the business understand past, current and future performance. In some areas of the business the candidate will also be asked to help develop analytics that predict future performance and/or opportunities. While designing these solutions for business needs; the candidate will also look to improve corporate data quality via means of various master data management strategies and data governance models.
The successful candidate for this position will have a broad background in the design, development and maintenance of various forms of databases, data management and Business Intelligence (BI) technologies and deployed solutions in a Microsoft centric environment.
Participate and lead the database design discussion with Project Managers and Developers to create and/or update database schemas for new and existing projects.
Works with cross-functional teams and DBAs to ensure that the databases deployed by the development teams follow the enterprise database standards and best practices and are properly installed, configured, and operating in a scalable, high performance, high availability fashion.
Design and development of high performance Reporting and Integration Services processes and jobs
Works extensively with corporate transaction databases to design and develop creative BI solutions for the business.
- Provides input and helps guide the overall corporate BI and Data Warehouse initiative.
Serves as a technology mentor to Data Analysts in the business with the ultimate goal of making them self-sufficient in the use of the Data Warehouse and the BI tools.
Help design and subsequently manage the Corporate Master Data Model that depicts the Organization’s information requirements.
Define requirements for data quality measurements and work with data stewards and other stakeholders in an advisory role to provide guidance around data governance concepts and implementation
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent technical discipline.
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
2 years’ experience working as a Business Intelligence Analyst in a complex data and technological environment.
Technical proficiency using Microsoft based BI technologies such as SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, PerformancePoint and Excel Power Pivot
Experience with Master Data Management strategies, Data Quality Solutions and Data Governance are given additional considerations
Excellent communication, customer service and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively as a team member in the accomplishment of Business Intelligence project goals; ability to create and implement detailed action plans
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and must be able to manage multiple requests at the same time.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse group of people.
Must be capable of collecting information from multiple sources and integrating the information to find creative ways to meet business needs.
