Ke`aki Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator (DBA) / IT Specialist . The position will be located at the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) located in Portsmouth, Virginia. This position requires United States Citizenship.

The Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) provide leadership and expertise to ensure mission readiness through disease prevention and health promotion in support of the National Military Strategy. This acquisition will service the scientific analysis core requirement for ongoing scientific and technical efforts of the NMCPHC’s mission. This requirement is essential to ensure Navy and Marine Corps customers (organizations and personnel) are provided responsive public health services by providing timely and effective public health/force health protection information to improve operational readiness. The IT infrastructure and support are imperative to the NMCPHC’s success.

The Database Administrator (DBA) / IT Specialist will support development, administration and database management. Responsibilities will include designing, installing, configuring, tuning, optimizing, monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting the database. This position will work closely with team members and development teams designing solutions, optimizing queries, automating processes, and cloning database instances for test and development environments. This position will be in charge of scheduling automated database backups, ensuring they run properly, and recovering data at appropriate points in time.

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

Candidates must have one of the following certifications: Network+ or Security+

7+ years of experience with database administration, development and management, including design and creation using best practices, importing, exporting, indexing, back ‐ up, data processing, and database management

7+ years of experience in working with database security and integrity

7+ years of experience with programming and writing scripts in MS ‐ SQL ( strong emphasis here), T ‐ SQL, or UNIX -Knowledge of integrating data from various files, including Microsoft Access and Excel, Oracle, and SQL

Strong skills in development and maintenance of Data Structures/Data Integrity

Experience in Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V), Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Medical Systems experience preferred

Knowledge of reporting software, including Crystal Reports

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access

U.S. Citizenship

CLEARANCE INFORMATION: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (up to and including a Secret clearance).
