The Data Management Group at AIR Worldwide is tasked with developing and managing a number of datasets crucial to the development of AIR Worldwide’ s catalog of catastrophe models. In addition, the group develops analysis processes and applications to analyze and visualize a variety of geospatial datasets used across the organization. This position will expand the group’s current strengths and provide support to the group’s growing set of responsibilities within the organization. This position will also allow the selected candidate to expand their technical skills.

Responsibilities

Work with Data Management Group on the production, maintenance, and performance of their database architecture
Develop internal applications to analyze and understand datasets used in the development of catastrophe modeling
Provide support to data mining and data analysis efforts within Data Management Group
Develop documentation of data processes and internal training manuals
Train researchers on tools developed by the Data Management group
Experience, Knowledge and Abilities

Technical Skills - Knowledge of relational database management
systems (RDBMS) and SQL.
Understanding of a high level programminglanguage (C#, C++, Python, FORTRAN, etc.).
Strong analytical skills, including experience,with probability and statistics
Communication Skills – have the necessary set of skills to effectively present in front of a group, be able to train other members of the Research Department, and have strong written and verbal communication skills to work with other departments at AIR on a variety of projects.
Highly motivated and self-directed, that is able to work and thrive within a team dynamic.

Qualifications

BS in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related field
1-3 years of experience
