The Technical Lead / Architect will be responsible for the technical architecture and Infrastructure on which the Meter Data Management System (MDM) application will be hosted.
Acts as Technical Architect and Lead for the development of a complex software solution, ensuring that the infrastructure, COTS Package Application and platform are compliant with company standards, technical environments are available for the overall solution, the overall solution is secure and manageable, a large set of interfaces are well architected and supportable, application and interface performance are per requirements, and that the interface code is well designed, documented and developed.
Leads the mapping of architecture artifacts to implementation with focus on (1) identifying/resolving technical issues to ensure timely delivery, (2) deploying into existing infrastructure/data center identifying capacity/load needs, and (3) ensuring that implementation meets SLA requirements.
Maintains/documents models in approved repository. Documents and maintains models of ‘as is’ and ‘ to be’ architectures
Responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or systems process designs for very large complex technical solutions. Analyzes functional requirements and designs technical solutions to meet those objectives. Primary expert to architect the specific solution and manage a technical team to develop it.
Maintains and utilizes detailed technical industry in the construction of industry-leading services solutions, including expert working level knowledge of the technologies and people components involved in the technical effort. Uses expertise to construct specific and detailed technical solutions that encompass process, technology, and technical staff.
As needed, provide a “trusted expert advisor” role as Subject Matter Expert for technical services, to both internal and external customers, ranging from formal advice to internal and external customer’s presentations. Follow all organizational Standard Operating Procedures relative to cost modeling, approvals and reviews, and all other associated workflow and deliverables.
Constructs risk assessments and corresponding remediation plans relative to complex technical issues. Crafts detailed and accurate deliverables that help define and develop the technical solution.
(Required) minimum skills/experience:
5 years - Demonstrated experience in leading the architecture , design , implementation , and operation of enterprise wide applications and infrastructure solutions including a large number of interfaces. 5 years - Experience with solutions that require processing and storing large volumes of data using batch interfaces. 5 years - Skilled in analyzing complex problems, performing data analysis, developing and evaluating options, estimating financial and business implications, and in conveying recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences 5 years - Broad understanding of various networking , storage , serve r, and software , and integration infrastructure technologies. 5 years - Experience using design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of architectural policies, standards, plans, models, and associated work procedures/processes. 5 years - Knowledge development of project management techniques, WBS (Work breakdown structure) development, and coordination of people and resources. 5 years - Skilled in oral and written communication, facilitation, prioritization, and negotiation. 5 years - Knowledge of IBM Websphere Application Server, Websphere Process Server, Data Power 5 years - Knowledge of Oracle 11g RDBMS technologies 5 years - Knowledge of AIX UNIX operating system
Desired Skills/Experience: (Nice to haves)
2 years - Experience designing and planning Meter Data Management/smart grid technical solutions 3 years - Knowledge of electric utility applications and technologies
12+ months contract
