The Community College of Philadelphia invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor in the Computer Technologies Department available Fall 2013.
Specific Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field. * Graduate coursework in database management systems. * Demonstrated ability to teach certification-related database courses and a variety of other Computer Information Systems or Computer Science courses, as assigned; see http://www.ccp.edu/site/academic/ for Computer Information Systems and Computer Science course descriptions. * Possess relevant professional experience. * Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience. * Willingness and ability to manage ORACLE software licensing. * Willingness and ability to develop and manage courses and curricula, including ORACLE database certification courses. * Willingness to manage hardware and software used in class. * Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. * Willingness to develop and implement student retention related activities, participate in articulation with four-year schools and outreach with area high schools. * Commitment to participating in the intellectual life of the department and the College including service on departmental and college-wide committees.
Special Instructions to Applicants
- ORACLE professional certification. * At least 2 years teaching experience at a community college.
