The position has administrative oversight of Houston Baptist University School of Nursing and Allied Health for the following academic undergraduate programs.
- Kinesiology: Specialization in Athletic Training (BS)
- Kinesiology: Specialization in Wellness Management (BS)
- Nursing (BSN)
- Nursing - Honors (BSN
The School of Nursing and Allied Health Dean is responsible directly to the Office of the Provost and has accountability to development and maintenance of an environment conducive to the teaching/learning processes, maintenance of the relationships with the Provost and President of HBU, preparing and administering the budget for the School, providing leadership within the faculty for the development and implementation of the curricula in nursing, kinesiology, athletic training, and other allied health programs, facilitating faculty development, recruitment, performance review, promotion and retention; maintaining a relationship with regulatory agencies, including Texas Board of Nursing, The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. and Texas Department of State Health Services, ensuring compliance with all School and University regulatory bodies, supporting ongoing relationship with the community to establish affiliate agencies and ensures responsiveness to community needs and providing for an adequate number of qualified faculty to teach in the educational programs in the School.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in nursing and a current unencumbered Texas license to practice professional nursing (RN). The candidate will have 3 years teaching experience in the academic setting and provide documentation of an excellent teaching record and evidence of scholarly interests and achievements.
