The Deduction Analyst (DA) position is responsible for resolving deductions on Trade A/R timely, accurately and efficiently. Any deduction deemed invalid is to be collected promptly to ensure maximum trade spend while minimizing negative P&L implications. Research, file, and collect freight claims with carriers on inbound & outbound shipments. Expert on outsourced L&DP process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pursue deductions deemed invalid by working with the customer to resolve disputes. The DA is to submit the necessary supporting documentation to ensure the customer has received what is needed to expedite repayment. Supporting documentation would include any required customer forms, invoice copies, check copies, POD's, BOL's, price lists, contracts, etc...
Research, file, & collect freight claims with carriers. Produce daily/weekly/period reports relating to claims process as needed. Be the expert on the entire L&DP process. Main point of contact for outsourced MDC L&DP team.
Maintain business/customer acumen to quickly identify problematic issues within their portfolio. Provide top tier customer service to both the internal and external customer. The DA is to communicate clearly and concisely while acting with a sense of urgency to maximize good will and minimize HSH exposure.
Special projects as assigned including escheat, balance projections, customer scorecard, misc Siebel and Vistex, etc
High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
Business to business deduction experience required; food industry and broker experience a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Systems proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Access & Excel.
