The Delivery / Building Services Worker in the Recycling Center performs the following key duties:
Collect recycling from indoor and outdoor containers as per regular routes
Collect large bulk amounts of recyclables and transport directly to vendors using pickup or other large trucks
Accomodate any additional recycling pickups that are added to the regular routes
Safely sort materials when bins are contaminated
Operate vehicles and perform operator level maintenance on assigned vehicle. Monitor vehicles for problems and notify supervisor of any problems
Check recycling dumpsters and compactors and notify the proper person(s) when they need attention
Collect, flatten and recycle cardboard
Communicate with individuals along regular routes as needed to maintain service levels
Respond to pages and calls within 30 minutes
Assist with retrieving items from storage or taking items to storage
Assist as needed with special events such as Move-in, Move-out, Earth Day, Commencement etc
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Candidates must be able to work 2pm - 10.30pm, Monday thru Friday and be available to work other hours per business needs.

Basic Qualifications
This position requires a High school graduate or GED and 0 years of experience or the equivalent.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs routinely, as well as bend and stretch.
This position also requires a valid TN driver's license and the ability to operate either an automatic or manual (stick shift) transmission.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and communicate via email.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 6 months of delivery experience.
Preference will also be given to candidates with familiarity of Vanderbilt's Campus and/or the recycling industry.
