Demonstrators, as part of the sales team, engage consumers in an energetic and confident manner and provide them with knowledgeable information about Dyson products in select retail locations or events across the United States. Demonstrators are passionate about Dyson and technology and share their love for the brand with current and future consumers. The most important part of a Demonstrators’ job is to create a positive experience with the store and the consumers, assisting in the sale of Dyson products to achieve company specified sales goals. Demonstrations occur on Saturdays, Sundays and some weekday holidays, in four hour shifts. Demonstrators are needed to work a minimum of 12 out of 16 available weekend shifts every four weeks within an assigned market.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES:
Increase overall awareness and sales of Dyson products through in store and event demonstrations
Conduct planned demonstrations in assigned retail stores
Deliver results of key performance indicator expectations to achieve specified sales goals
Partner with store management to conduct demonstrations in a high profile area
Capture consumers’ attention to participate in high energy, captivating in-store consumer interactions and model all aspects of Dyson brand, culture, and passion for technology
Demonstrate and educate them on the benefits and features of Dyson products
Approach a variety of consumers and interact in a conversational manner with a goal of establishing rapport, developing brand loyalty and creating a sale
Be a credible Product and Brand expert, educating consumers on the benefits and features of Dyson products to confidently recommend appropriate Dyson products and tools for purchase
Actively listen to consumers and apply knowledge of product to comfortably overcome objections
Install and maintain pop-up theatre elements and other POP materials
Build and maintain strong relationships with store management
Provide associate training sessions when appropriate or requested by retailer
Assist with miscellaneous district and territory sales driving initiatives by creating opportunities within retail locations to include and not be limited to in store product placement, secondary product locations, additional inventory ordering
Assist with training of new Demonstrators
Communicate clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner with accounts, peers, and District Demonstration Manager
Respond to weekly web-based booking requests using Dyson internal systems to confirm attendance
Capture accurate demonstration data and communicate to District Demonstration Manager per established guidelines
Identify and communicate opportunities and best practices to District Demonstration Manager
Capture accurate data and contribute quality feedback daily through company online reporting system
Share demonstration successes with District Demonstration Manager
This is what we need you to have...
INDIVIDUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Education
HS Diploma or GED required
Bachelor Degree a plus
1 year experience in a public interfacing role required
Experience in a retail environment desirable
Previous sales experience preferred
Skills, Competencies and Requirements
Ability to work weekends required
Ability to work a minimum of twelve 4-hour shifts every four weeks, including up to an hour a week for administrative work
Must have a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
Ability to understand the Dyson brand and uphold its integrity
Strong communication and presentation skills essential
Charismatic and outgoing personality
Must have good judgment and a mature attitude
Objective, enthusiastic, committed and flexible
Good understanding of retail business operations; local market knowledge is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
Ability to build strong business relationships
Must be self-motivated and be able to work well independently
Ability to travel within designated region
Ability to travel occasionally overnight for training
Must be available to attend and actively participate in 1 team meeting per quarter
Must be able to participate in conference calls with team at least every other week
Must have a valid drivers license with good driving record. Must have access to reliable transportation.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs., potentially overhead
Access to internet and cell phone with ability to send/receive text messages
Ability to stand on your feet for up to eight hours at a time
