The College of Dentistry at UIC is seeking a full-time Dental Clinic Clerk II for the Restorative Department who enjoys working in a diverse teaching environment. A Dental Clinic Clerk II performs a variety of patient-related clerical dental support functions within a clinic which may include scheduling dental appointments, creating or updating patient charts/files, and all other coordination of patient information.
Typical responsibilities of a Dental Clinic Clerk II include but are not limited to: retrieving patient information from the College's dental software system; scheduling appointments; collecting and allocating patients' payments; establishing and maintaining patient dental charts; transcribing/reviewing dental staff/student notes; responds to routine patient questions or concerns pertaining to their care; and assisting faculty and staff with patient management.
The minimum requirements for a Dental Clinic Clerk II include a high school diploma or equivalent AND one year (12 months) of experience comparable to that performed at the Dental Clinic Clerk I level.
Preferred qualifications include the ability to speak and write in English and Spanish fluently; knowledge of dental techniques/procedures, terminology, practice, and ADA codes; working knowledge of computers and basic business software; and the ability to keyboard and enter data into word processing software and spreadsheets.

Credential Assessment Exam Scoring Information :
This exam consists of a credentials assessment as well as a typing test. You will not be required to report in person for the credentials assessment portion of this exam. The updated online application and all uploaded, relevant documents, such as a resume and/or college transcript will be used in the calculation of the exam score. These documents should be uploaded prior to submitting your exam request. You will be scheduled to come in to complete the typing portion of the exam and will receive information regarding your scheduled exam date and time via the US mail to your home address.
If an application and exam request are not submitted by the close date, the applicant/employee will not be considered and the exam request will be denied.
